Veloniz builds dependable software and shares the work openly.
What we do
We build software for problems where mistakes are costly. Our product, Hisaab, is an expense tracker and lend/borrow ledger: it helps people see where their money goes and keep a precise, shared record of who owes whom.
It consists of a NestJS backend with a double-entry ledger and a React Native mobile app that works offline, all described by an OpenAPI contract. The source for each part is public on GitHub.
Correct by construction
Money software has to add up. Hisaab's ledger rejects any entry whose debits and credits differ, and balances are derived from history, never overwritten.
Private by default
Data is stored in an encrypted on-device database with keys in the platform's secure store. Users can export their data or delete their account in the app.
Open about the work
The backend, the mobile app and this website are public on GitHub, so anyone can read how the product is built.
Useful without a connection
The app is offline-first: entries are saved locally and sync when the network returns.
